Play games and taste our garden buffet while learning the nutrition behind the plants, create a seasonal garden snack recipe.

Wolf Conservation Award

June 3rd at 10am-12pm

Wolves will complete requirements 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 for this award. Come get your hands dirty, plant a seedling and watch it grow! Learn about what it takes to grow your own food in Kansas City, how to conserve water and keep waterways clean, and help improve the environment by completing a conservation project at the community garden.

Put together a nutritious snack or two as you create a new recipe using herbs, fruits and vegetables fresh from the garden as ingredients.

Into the Wild

July 15th at 10am-12pm

Webelos will complete requirements 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9 for this achievement. Catch insects and study how they move and live. Learn about the bird flyways over Kansas City and find out which birds use these flyways. Observe creatures in their natural habitats and describe how they live. Learn the interdependence of producers, consumers, and decomposers.

Into the Woods

July 15th at 10am-12pm

Webelos will complete requirements 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 for this achievement. Take a tour of the Giving Grove demonstration orchard to learn more about trees. Learn to identify two different native trees and the parts of a tree. Observe and learn about tree rings, bark and how these things tell the life story of each tree. Learn how important trees and plants are for our ecosystem and how they improve our environment. Plan for planting and growing your own tree at home.
