Tito’s Handmade Vodka Block to Block with Kansas City Community Gardens


The Eastwood Hills Community Garden is going to be getting some special TLC this summer, thanks to the Love, Tito’s Block to Block program, Tito’s Handmade Vodka’s initiative to reconnect communities through transformative volunteer projects, one block at a time.
On Tuesday, June 17th, teams from KCCG and Tito’s will be joining gardeners to complete several projects: cleaning and repairing the fence line, repairing gates in the original garden area and adding a walk-in gate to the newer garden area, installing new hose posts, faucets and hoses, making repairs to the shed, and mulching and weeding in the orchard.
***SCHEDULE***
• 9a - Volunteers arrive and check-in; welcome and orientation
• 9:30-1p - Volunteer work
• 1-2p - Lunch and cocktails provided
Volunteer activities for the day will include:
• Cleaning invasive honeysuckle and clearing trash from the fence line
• Repairing the walk-in gates in the original area of the garden and adding a walk-in gate to in the new area
• Replacing old hose posts and hoses and assembling new faucets
• Repairing the garden shed
• Mulching and weeding in the orchard

Please note that the entrance can be a bit hard to find; it’s a good idea to look at a map ahead of time or use GPS if this is your first trip to the garden. Look for a large green gate on the north side of Ozark road, just west of Sycamore Avenue. Parking is available along the driveway to the garden.
