Gardens at Sunset 2024 is right around the corner and tickets are going fast! We're excited to host the best garden party in KC once again this year on Saturday, September 7th in the magical Beanstalk Children's Garden at our headquarters in Swope Park from 5:30-8:30 pm.

Extending the Gardening Season

Just because we have had frost and hard freezes that should not prevent you from growing food. Many cool season crops can grow well into the winter with a little protection from the elements. Learn what crops grow best and how to extend them into the winter and how to get a jump on harvest in the early spring.
Fall Cool Season Plants Still Available
If you plan on planting a fall garden, come get your fall cool season garden plants asap. The planting window is slowly closing and the forecast is ideal to plant in the upcoming week.
Plants include broccoli, cabbage, collards, cauliflower, and kale. Lettuce will be available on August 22nd.

More Fall Family Festival Fun Planned for the Beanstalk!
Save the date for another year of Fall Family Festival fun!
Located in the beautiful Beanstalk Children's Garden, we'll have all kinds of activities for the kiddos including Fruit and Veggie Tasting, Garden Crafts, Bug Exhibits, Hand Painting, Yard Games, Scavenger Hunt, Free Basil Plants, and more on Saturday, September 21st from 10am-2:30pm.
This event is free and open to the public.
