Join The Giving Grove and Kansas City Community Gardens for their second annual Wassailing Celebration on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 4:30 PM – 6 PM. The celebration will be held at a partnering community orchard located at Cross-Lines in KCK (646 S. 7th St Trafficway, Kansas City, KS 66105). Parking is available in the lot directly west of the Cross-Lines Community Kitchen.
You’re invited to share refreshments inside the Cross-Lines Community Kitchen beginning at 4:30 PM, and then venture outside into the orchard for wassailing. Following in the traditions of the cider-producing regions of West England, wassailing involves awakening the orchard trees to thrive and scare away evil spirits in the name of a bountiful harvest.

Happy Hour with Non-alcoholic Wassail and Light Snacks (Indoors)
5:15 PM – 5:30 PM

Wassail the trees, that they may bear
You many a Plum and many a Pear:
For more or less fruits they will bring,
As you do give them Wassailing. — Robert Herrick
