KCCG Hosts KC Farmer's Market Passport Launch
On Friday, May 3rd, KCCG hosted the Launch Party for the KC Farmer's Market Passport - a partnership of Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council and Cultivate KC.
The passport will encourage community residents to incorporate more locally grown foods in their diet and raise awareness of all of the wonderful growers and markets we have in the KC community.
A number of policymakers and partners were on site on Friday to celebrate Kansas City's recent designation as a USDA Urban Service Center. This designation will provide additional support to farmers and growers as we work together to increase healthy food access in KC.
We’d like to thank all those who came out and took a tour of our grounds and a bus tour of several local urban farms and gardens.
Sponsors for this event included KC Healthy Kids, Kansas CIty Foods Not Bombs, BikeWalkKC, Kansas City Black Urban Growers, & KCMO Health Department.
