Back by popular demand, we are now officially offering our Take Home Garden Kits again this season!
Thanks to our Bilingual Outreach Coordinator, Gabriel, and our Community Partner Gardens Coordinator, Amanda, we are now able to offer these kits in Spanish as well as English!
The intention behind these kits is to give teachers and students one more way to grow their own food, see firsthand how a seed grows into food, and of course eat the food that they grow. It’s ideal for students still learning virtually, who can use these kits to grow food at home and can also make a nice alternative for classes who are limited in how they can move throughout their school building and might not have access to their school garden at this time. Check out our “How To Plant Your Take Home Garden Kit” video to learn more.
Kits are $0.50 apiece and each include a pot, a package of seeds (a mixture of three different leafy green seeds), three plant markers and an activity booklet which contains fun garden lessons, a recipe, a DIY project and more! Kits do not include potting soil, but we do have recommendations for what type to buy and how much you will need for the number of kits you’re purchasing.

Lastly, supplies are limited, so we are offering Take Home Garden Kits on a first come first serve basis and they will only be available to our member schools with a current SYG account status. Please reach out to your Schoolyard Gardens coordinator or syg{at}kccg.org with any questions.
