If you’ve visited KCCG lately, you may have noticed that we have something new at the gardens… a Little Free Library! This library was donated to us by a gardener (thanks Molly!)
You may have seen these little boxes before, scattered throughout the city. The Little Free Library is an organization based out of Wisconsin that has inspired little library boxes nationwide. There are many different reasons that households and organizations install Little Free Libraries. Not only do these boxes increase access to books, but they also help to inspire delight in reading while also fostering community building and helping folks meet their neighbors.
We are so excited to have this library up and running. So far we have stocked the library with kids books of all genres as well as adult books on gardening and cooking.
Look for the little library on your next visit out to KCCG and if you have any kids books that you’d like to give us to keep the little library stocked, call us or drop them off at the front desk.
