Cold Kansas City temperatures have some our school districts scheduling their last day of school well into the first part of June!
It feels like forever since we’ve been able to spend time gardening in the warm sun!
But here at KCCG, spring is in the air, at least in our greenhouse! Since February, our talented, greenhouse manager Stacy has been busy growing lettuce, kale, broccoli, spinach, cabbage and collard greens transplants. Plants will be available March 22 to members of KCCG.
Also, all of our school garden coordinators should watch their inboxes as we’re sending out the spring order form today! It’s new and improved with helpful charts and planting plans to make it easier for you to order. Here’s an example of one of our pre-made planting plans you can use to order your plants and seeds!
If you have any questions about planning your school garden or figuring out what to order, Schoolyard Gardens Coordinators are holding open office hours March 5th from 3:00-5:00 PM or March 8 from 9:00-11:00 AM. If you have any questions, please stop by or call!
It will be time to plant your spring garden before you know it, so get your orders in ASAP!
