Garden Signage

We are excited to share that we now have garden signage available for schools! As more and more families and classrooms are getting involved and visiting the garden independently, we saw a need for garden signage that will teach and empower kids and adults alike to know what’s growing in the beds.

The signs each have pictures of real veggies from seed to harvest in an effort to help kids anticipate and identify the veggies in the garden during various stages of growth. We also list the nutritional benefits of each veggie in kid-friendly language and provide images (ex: this veggie helps keep your teeth and bones strong). Further, the black and white QR codes allow you to access the harvesting video for each veggie by scanning the QR with your phone/tablet camera. Lastly, we’ve shared our favorite SYG recipes for each veggie.

How to Access:

  1. Follow this link to Veggie Signs
  2. Download & print the signs you need for your fall garden (each sign is formatted to be 8.5”x11”)
  3. Laminate the signs
  4. Attach them to a stake or post
  5. Place in garden beds after planting

Bonus:

Are you encouraging families/the larger school community to harvest from the garden? Post this sign in your SYG and utilize painted stakes (red, yellow, and green) in each bed so folks know what they can/can’t harvest in the garden.

We hope these new garden signs enrich your gardening experience. As always, let us know what other things we can do to support your schoolyard garden!
