The mission of Kansas City Community Gardens is to assist low-income households and community groups in the Kansas City metropolitan area to produce vegetables and fruit from garden plots located in backyards, vacant lots, and at community sites. KCCG supports Kansas City’s gardeners as they work to transform the food system, along with their nutritional habits, in backyard and community garden spaces throughout the metropolitan area.

Home Gardens
KCCG is one of the only gardening organizations in the country dedicated to helping home gardeners have successful gardens. We help people grow food for themselves in backyards, vacant lots and at community garden sites.
Community Partner Gardens
CPG assists community groups, faith-based organizations, neighborhood associations, & other non-profits with having successful vegetable gardens through technical assistance & access low-cost gardening resources.
Rent A Plot
Whether you are dealing with a shady backyard, an apartment or rental house with no place to garden or you need more room to grow, a community garden rental plot can help solve these problems.
Giving Grove
The Giving Grove, a program of KCCG, is an organization with the mission of helping the KC metropolitan and surrounding communities grow, harvest, and share healthy food by providing the resources needed to plant edible tree gardens at schools, churches, and other vacant land.
Schoolyard Gardens
The Schoolyard Garden program works with schools metro-wide to establish vegetable gardens on school grounds. KCCG staff support school staff and students so that they can have a successful gardens, exposing students to the wonders of growing their own fruits & vegetables.
Beanstalk Children's Garden
The Leanna Flandermeyer Beanstalk Children’s Garden is a unique field trip destination for kids of all ages to learn about growing food, insects, nutrition, & plant science. Visitors are encouraged to use their senses to see, touch, smell & taste plants as part of the learning process.
