Rain or shine, KCCG's Warm Season Plant Sale, AKA Tomato Days 2022, begins Thursday, April 28th!

We will be serving Green Card Members ONLY on April 28th and all members on Friday, April 29th.

Plants that will be available during the first days of the sale include tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, ground cherries and warm season herbs (basil, parsley, sorrel, rosemary and summer savory).

Tomatillos and cannas are still growing in our greenhouse and will be available later in May.

Our complete library of seeds is also available (with the exception of a few varieties that are still on backorder – please bear with us!)

If you attended our cool season plant sale, we'll be set up in a similar fashion with a few adjustments in case of rain. Below is a map you can reference and a step-by-step guide on how to shop for your plants and seeds.

Parking

Parking will be available along Kensington Avenue. The parking lot is reserved for those that need accessible parking.

If parking on Kensington is full, you can also park on Elmwood Avenue, walk across the baseball fields and enter through our back gate.

Sale Hours:

Thursday, April 28th, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Green Card only)

Friday, April 29th, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (All Members)

Saturday, April 30th, 9 a.m. – noon (All Members)

*Please note that due to the high volume of customers served on plant sale days, we will close at 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday to allow our staff time to restock and reset for the following day.

Can’t make it this week? Don’t worry! We’ll have plenty of cool season transplants available for several weeks after the sale. Visit us during our spring office hours:

M, W, Th & F – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesdays – 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Saturdays – 9 a.m. to noon

On Monday, May 2nd, we’ll also host a satellite sale in Kansas City, Kansas at the Jersey Creek Community Garden (11th and Parallel Parkway) from 5 to 6 p.m.

Step 1 - Renew or Sign Up For New Membership

If you haven't signed up or renewed your membership yet, you will need to do so before you can purchase your seeds and plants. We will have a membership station set up in our conference room that you can access through our front office. Just follow the signs and staff will assist you.

If you have signed up online but have not received your card, you will need to go to the membership station. We will have a will call table available for card pick up.

Note - we recommend signing up online prior to coming in. You can sign up online here.

Step 2 - Shop For Seeds

Once you have your membership, you can make your way to the front office and browse our wide selection of seeds.

You will not pay for your seeds in the front office. We will have a cashier set up by the plants to check you out for your entire purchase.

Step 3 - Shop For Plants

Make your way out to the garage area where you can shop for your warm season plants.

Step 4 - Check Out

After you finished up shopping for seeds and plants, bring your items over to the front garage area where staff will ring your order up.

More Info:

We require a mask when entering the front office for seeds and conference room for membership sign up.
