After a long winter, it's been great to see old and new faces who've visited us at our Swope Park Headquarters this season to sign up for memberships and buy their seeds. We're excited to see even more friends soon and to host another year of our cool season plant sale! This is your guide to everything you need to know about this year's sale.

DATES and TIMES

This year's sale will begin on March 23rd for GREEN CARD MEMBERS only. We will serve all members on March 24th. We will be open both days at 9am and will be closing an hour earlier than usual at 4pm to allow staff to restock for the next day.

We will also be open on Saturday, March 25th from 9am-12pm. This marks the first Saturday we will be open and we'll continue to be open on Saturdays until May 6th.

We will host a satellite sale at the Jersey Creek Community Garden  (11th Street & Parallel Parkway) in KCK on Monday, March 27th from 5-6 pm.

Can’t make it out on the first days of the sale? Don’t worry – we’ll have plenty of plants available at our office in the weeks following the sale. We’re open from 9 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Tuesday evenings until 6:30 pm.

BECOME A MEMBER

The first step is to sign up or renew your membership. This can be done online by clicking here or in person. If you’re coming to KCCG for the first time this spring, please start by coming inside to our membership station, where you can renew in person or make a quick stop to pick up your card if you renewed in advance online.

Once you sign up, you are eligible for 10 free packs of seeds, a free bag of fertilizer, and the best prices in town on plants and supplies!

PLANT VARIETIES

The cool season plant sale includes strawberries, raspberries, blackberries*, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, kale and lettuce. To view the varieties for the vegetable transplants, click here. To view the fruit plant varieties, click here.

If you placed a pre-order for fruit trees, they will be ready for you to pick up at the sale. Please let the cashier know, and they will retrieve it for you. (NOTE: All of our trees have been pre-ordered; we are no longer accepting new fruit tree orders.)

*Blackberries are currently on order, and will be available as soon as we receive them.

SHOP FOR MORE

KCCG will also have seed packs, seed potatoes, onion sets, onion plants, leeks, and asparagus available to members. To see our full line of seeds, click here. For more information on potatoes, onions, leeks, and asparagus, click here.

If you would like to order sweet potatoes, place an order with the cashier upon check-out. These will be available for pickup in May.

We will also have straw available in the main parking lot. Let the cashier know how many bales you'd like upon checking-out and then drive your car into the lot to load the bales.

*Asparagus is currently on order, and will be available as soon as we receive it.

BRING YOUR OWN BOX

If you have an open lid box with 3 or 4 inch sides, please bring it in to carry your plants in. We're running a little short this year so if you can have your own, or if you have extra to donate, it will make carrying plants around a little easier while you shop.

Below are plant, seed, and supply limits:

• Vegetable plants come in three pack and limits for these are 48 (16 three-packs).

• Strawberry plants come in bundles of 10 and limit is 5 bundles.
