Schoolyard Gardens invites you to our Fall Garden Workshop, Tuesday August 6th from 3-4:30 pm.
This workshop is mandatory for first time garden contacts, but we welcome any schoolyard gardener wanting to brush up on our best gardening practices.
Schoolyard Gardens Coordinators will assist you with mapping out a fall garden plan and answer any questions you have about submitting your order online.
Participants will leave with a printed-out version of their garden plan and receive first priority fall planting dates (if planting assistance is needed).
We will discuss the right way and wrong way to water newly planted seeds and seedlings.
We’ll go over the benefits of fertilizing and why mulching your plants with straw is so important.
And finally, we’ll review how to harvest your garden’s produce!
