Summary:

This week’s lesson “Take a Walk and Explore Your World,” is a fun activity that encourages fresh air and keen observation. Use the Schoolyard Gardens Scavenger Hunt to explore the nature in your own backyard while getting some healthy exercise!  Please note that we encourage you and your students to do this scavenger hunt safely, while keeping social distancing recommendations in mind.

Additional Resources:

Having a rainy day, but still want to stay active?

  • Play Freeze Dance, with this educational YouTube video that combines fun songs and dancing while learning new garden and vegetable vocabulary
  • Listen to this video to learn how to plant a seed. Make up your own movements to each action of planting seeds and reenact the song with your movements.
  • Celebrate the bees by dancing to BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ by Laurie Berkener.
